The number of days in a month can be remembered by counting them on knuckles. Count on both knuckles and grooves. The knuckle of the little finger on the left hand is January; the groove between the knuckle and the ring finger is February. Similarly, keep counting until July on the index finger. Then keep counting forward from August on the knuckle of the index finger on the right hand. The months that fall on the knuckles have 31 days. The months on the grooves have 30 days. February has 28 days, or 29 in a leap year.
